Referral & Payments
Referral
If you are seeking help with an emotional or mental health problem the first person to discuss this with would normally be your own General Practitioner, or perhaps your Hospital Consultant. You may be able to get appropriate help by referral to your local NHS Mental Health Service. However this can sometimes be difficult or not straight-forward and there may be delays and you may encounter lengthy waiting lists. Furthermore it can sometimes be difficult to get referred to and taken on by your local NHS Clinical Psychology service or other appropriate mental health specialist who is sufficiently experienced and trained to treat your particular problem.
If you wish to see a Clinical Psychologist and pursue psychological treatment on a private basis you should also discuss this with your GP and request that a Private Referral is made. It may be helpful to take a print of the brochure from this website with you to your appointment with your Doctor. You can download a copy of the brochure for your GP from here. Referral letters and all correspondence should be sent to my main office address as indicated on the homepage.
In some instances your occupational health department may be able to arrange referral for private treatment in one of my clinics.
If your problems are connected with a legal case or compensation claim you should seek advice from your solicitor who may be able to arrange appropriate referral to one of my clinics.
Insurance
I am a recognised registered provider with the leading U.K. Health Insurance Companies. Most of the people attending my clinics are funded through private health insurance, the fees being paid directly by the insurer. However some people are self-financing. If you are covered by health insurance you should inform your insurer of a referral and confirm your level of cover in the first instance. (The financial contract for payment will exist with yourself and should your insurer decline to pay your account in whole or in part, you may be held personally responsible for payment of the account). It is therefore in your own interests to always contact your insurer, confirm your level of cover and obtain agreement prior to your initial appointment. Your insurance details, including membership number will be required in advance in order to book an initial appointment.

Fees
Fees may vary according to the type of work to be undertaken and the clinic attended. Also some Insurers and Agencies have set standard rates and agreed specific terms. Please contact me to discuss current rates. Telephone 01773 875683. If I am not immediately available to speak to you please leave your name, number and brief details on the answer phone and I will call you back later the same day or as soon as possible.
For self payments from individuals the fees are payable in advance or on the day at the commencement of the appointment. Payment can be made in cash or by cheque but unfortunately I am unable to take payment by credit card at the present time.
Insurance companies may settle accounts directly through BACS or by cheque. All accounts to be settled within 30 days of invoice date. Late payment may incur Statutory Interest and Compensation for debt recovery costs under the Late Payment Legislation.
Accounts may be opened subject to prior agreement.
